Alyek Hellen Keller (Rtd Superintendent of Police)

Alyek Hellen Keller is a pioneer of a Unit called   Childcare & Family Protection Unit (CFPU), in the Uganda Police. This Unit handles case of violence against women and children in all Police stations in Uganda. 

 Hellen holds a Diploma in Education and Sports Science from Mainz University in Germany.

 She also attended various trainings for which she was awarded certificates. She also received awards for her good work and service among which include the Heroine award and the Golden Jubilee Medal Award that were given to her by H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni- The President of the Republic of Uganda. FR. Robert Ecogu is a Male Ugandan Catholic Priest born on 2^nd may 1967.

 He is based in the Soroti Catholic Diocese where he is a parish priest at St.Joseph’s Parish- Ngora, catholic Diocese he is also the Co-coordinator of Social Communications Commission and a Director at Kyoga Veritas and Delta FM Radios.

Fr. Robert holds an M.A. in Peace and Conflict studies from Makerere University, a B.A in Theology from Urban University, Rome and a Diploma in Theological Studies from Ggaba National Major Seminary.

Currently working as a Safe guarding Advisor with Voluntary Services Overseas and board member CECORE. Holds a Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict from Austria (2010) Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Makerere ( 1997), plus a number of certificates  in Human rights , Peace and conflict studies from Banjul the Gambia, Johannesburg  SA, Koffi Anan Peace Centre  in Ghana , Hawai’i  USA,  Previously worked at with African Union United Nations Hybrid Mission in Darfur as Human rights Officer and HIV&AIDS Trainer/Counselor (2009-2017), Voluntary services overseas in Cambodia as an HIV&AIDS Advisor (2006-2008) , Rule of Law Association as an HIV /Human rights trainer  2008-2009,  Counselor with TASO 2003-2006, Administrator /social worker with the legal AID Project  of the Uganda law society  1997-2000

Rose is currently the Executive Director – CECORE, a position she has held since 2006. Shhas a rich experience of over 17 years in the area of peace building and Conflict Resolution. She is one of the authors of the International Resource Pack on “Conflict Sensitive Approaches to Development, Peace-building and Humanitarian Assistance (CSA). She has conducted several consultancies and trainings at national, regional and International level. She is one of the members of the Uganda Women’s Coalition for Peace who participated in engendering thJuba Peace Talks in 2008.
Rose has a rich experience in Banking and Financial Management in which she worked for over 10 years. She has participated in the formulation of National and Regional Instruments on Conflict Early Warning, Small Arms and Light Weapons etc. She has been a board member of organizations like Human Rights Network, Uganda Action for Small Arms; where she played key advisory roles; she also served as an expert in the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, in the thematic areas of Peace and Security and Social and Humanitarian Affairs. Rose is the Gender Liaison for the Global Partnership for Prevention of Armed Conflict Mediation Working Group.
Currently Rose participated in mediating complaints arising from effects of the Bujagali hydroelectric dam construction on the River Nile in Uganda that is partly funded by the International Finance Corporation.

Grounded in her own experience of war and torture, Stella Sabiiti has spent more than 30 years brokering and facilitating armed groups, national armies, governments, and communities for dialogue, negotiation and mediation. Specializing in peace processes at the level of national, regional and international , she supports small arms and light weapons (SALW)-related work, including disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR) and post conflict stabilization, as well as security sector reform (SSR), including the role of women in such processes (such as within AMISOM in Mogadishu, Somalia; Liberia; Sudan; South Sudan and the Arab Spring countries). She is an avid supporter of the voice of civil society in development and peace processes as well as positive African Traditional Mechanisms of peace-building.
Ms. Sabiiti spent several years with the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Department's Capacity-building program, under EU support, to strengthen the AU, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Regional Mechanisms (RMs) for peace and security and their regional standby forces in building and operationalizing the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA).  She worked at the AU's Women, Gender and Development Directorate (WGDD) strengthening African women's voices to be heard in peace processes within the framework of UNSCR 1325 and the AU’s Gender Architecture (AUGA) and continues as part of a team of experts training personnel on the AU's Gender Training Manual for Peacekeepers and Peace Support Operations (PSO) military, police and civilian components. She is a trained and qualified PSO Mission Leader. She is a member of the Institute for Inclusive Security’s Resolution to Act which assists UN member states in articulating their National Action Plans (NAPs) for operationalizing UNSCR 1325.  Most recently she worked with AMISOM in helping the new government in Somalia to craft a National Gender Policy.  She continues to assist key players in the Sudan/South Sudan peace process.
In 2002, Ms. Sabiiti facilitated negotiations between the Uganda National Rescue Front II (UNRF2) and the Government of Uganda, leading to a signed peace agreement that has stood the test of time, and has worked with actors in the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA)-affected areas in the Great Lakes Region, Horn of Africa and Central Africa.  On behalf of the then Organization of African Unity’s (now AU) Women’s Committee on Peace and Development, she helped mobilize Burundian women to build their negotiation skills to successfully have badly-targeted sanctions on Burundi lifted and to be involved in the peace talks.
